The winner of the third largest Powerball drawing in history came forth today. This lucky winner happened to be 81 year old Louise White of Newport, RI. Why did the winning ticket have to be sold in Newport, RI, a very rich town with some very rich mansions? Why couldn't it have been sold in a small town like Frankenstein, Missouri. Oh yeah, it's real. Well getting back to the story, the drawing took place on February 11, 2012. The ticket was sold at a Stop and Shop on Bellevue Avenue in Newport, and you'll never guess what it was bought with. White was buying a tub of Rainbow Sherbet. She opted for the lump sum of 210 million dollars. The prize will pay 14.7 million in state taxes and 52.5 million in federal taxes. I guess it just goes to show you, that you have to be in it to win it.
