Well if you haven't heard Jason "Tek" Varitek announced his retirement from the Boston Red Sox as of last night, March 1st. Varitek spent 15 seasons with the Sox, caught four no-hitters, played in three All-Star games, won two championship rings, and had an encounter with A-Rod pictured above. He said that the thing he will miss the most, is his teammates. As if Dustin Pedroia is the heart of the Red Sox and David Ortiz is the soul, Varitek was the steel spine that held everything together, Jon Krawczynski of the Chicago Sun Times said in an article on the subject. With Varitek retiring that leaves just David Ortiz and Kevin Youkilis from the 2004 "curse-breaking" Championship Team.
